What Has God Said?

Thousands of years ago (around A.D. 60), a man named Paul, along with about 274 others, were on a boat when they encountered a storm that threatened their lives. They were about to be shipwrecked. In the midst of the panic, Paul tells them not a single one was going to die. He was 100% sure of this. Why? Well, because Paul had heard from God.

Here’s an excerpt of the story, written by Luke in the book of Acts 27.

“The terrible storm raged for many days, blotting out the sun and the stars, until at last all hope was gone. No one had eaten for a long time. Finally, Paul called the crew together and said “Men, you should have listened to me in the first place and not left Crete. You would have avoided all this damage and loss. But take courage! None of you will lose your lives, even though the ship will go down. For last night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood beside me, and he said ‘Don’t be afraid, Paul, for you will surely stand trial before Caesar! What’s more, God in his goodness has granted safety to everyone sailing with you.’ So take courage! For I believe God. It will be just as he said. But we will be shipwrecked.”

Upon reading this, I have one question for you; What Has God Said?

What Has God Said?

Paul was more convinced of what He heard God say than what he saw and was experiencing. He took God at His word. It was because of the Word of God that Paul had confidence during this crisis. God said there wouldn’t be loss of life, so Paul believed. Even though everything around him provided reason to doubt.

What has God said to you? Stand on that Word. God’s Word to you is more real than your delay, more real than a diagnosis, more real than anything or anyone you can think of. For example, if God said something will happen, it will happen.

God’s Word is so important. When you hear Him speak, hold on to that Word. You have it right with you; your Bible. Read His Word and it will guide your life. Read His Word to see and hear what He has said, and then place that Word above everything else. That is how you renew your mind. Let His word be your first reality and watch your life change.
