A Simple Equation for Life

Take a look at the following equation; 1+1+1+4+3 = 10. We can all agree that the result of the equation is 10.

The result of the equation is borne out of the variables that are included in the equation. If you changed any of the numbers, say you did 1+1+3+2, then the result would change as well.

Our lives are also a result of the input we make. These inputs are our decisions; for example, sleeping well + eating well + a genuine relationship with God + diligent work = peace of mind, success, and good health. On the other hand, procrastination + laziness + mismanagement of time + frivolous entertainment + no relationship with God = failure, fleeting peace, and stagnation in life. When we witness our lives churning out results we don’t like,  we need to review the equation we have set up; are we making bad inputs and expecting good results? Are we planting bad seeds and expecting fruitful trees? As the adage goes, “your life is a sum of the decisions you make”. If you’re not satisfied with where you are in life, then change the equation. Recreate the equation to come up with a more suitable result.

Another very important note to take is this: the input 1+1+1+4+3 equals 10, but so does 5+5, 7+3, 8+2, 9+1, and so forth. The point is, you can arrive at the same result without using the same formula. The destination is what’s important. Your mode of transportation may differ from the next person’s.
